HALLOWEEN HOODIE CAMPAIGN LAUNCHES ON KICKSTARTER
NEW DOCUMENTARY AIMS TO ELIMINATE RACISM FOREVER
Miami, FL – Oct. 15, 2013 – Halloween Hoodie successfully launches its anti-stereotype message on Kickstarter marking this the second year of the campaign. This year, Miami-based Producer and Halloween Hoodie Founder, Rochelle Oliver, expands the controversial 60-second clip into a made-for-tv documentary that explores the interplay between stereotypes and fear. Then in a unique twist, Oliver sets out on a mission to rid the world of hate and discrimination. (Click here to see Kickstarter campaign).
“People keep asking me if it’s possible to eliminate negative stereotypes. The answer is surprisingly simple. Yes. However, the truth is a scary thing to face.” Oliver said. “Halloween Hoodie: The Documentary is straight up and honest.”
On Tuesday morning, Oliver launched a Kickstarter page as a way to allow people to get involved with the documentary. Supporters can receive items such as Halloween Hoodie t-shirts, hoodies, posters, coffee table books etc. by making a pledge. The support will also help to offset $20,000 worth of production and travel costs associated with making the documentary.
Filming will take place in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, New Orleans and Washington, D.C.
Last year, the controversial 2012 campaign was exposed to more than 500,000 people around the world in less than two weeks. This year, Oliver plans to reach one million people.
